A Practice That’s Surprisingly Effective?
I first came across laughter yoga during a late-night internet rabbit hole, and I couldn’t believe it was a real thing. The idea of laughing intentionally—even without a joke—seemed odd? But the more I read, the more intrigued I became. Laughter yoga seems to combine playful exercises with deep breathing, aiming to trigger real, contagious laughter.

The science behind it is fascinating! Studies show that even fake laughter can stimulate endorphin production, reduce cortisol levels, and leave you feeling refreshed. Plus, laughter’s rhythmic nature pairs perfectly with yoga’s focus on intentional breathing, creating a holistic mind-body workout.
As someone who loves exploring new ways to improve well-being, I couldn’t resist learning more. Laughter yoga is said to:
- Boost mood and relieve stress.
- Enhance oxygen intake, leaving you energized.
- Strengthen social bonds when done in groups (even virtual ones!).
I haven’t tried a session yet, but it’s officially on my to-do list. Whether it’s joining an online class or attempting it solo at home, I’m excited to see how it feels. I’ll be sure to update you with my experience once I give it a go. Who knows? This might become my new favorite way to laugh through life!
Let me know if you have tried it, and how it went! Any tips?
