Food has always been at the heart of everything in my large Newfie family. Growing up surrounded by good food and laughter, I’ve seen firsthand how meals bring people together. But like many families, mine hasn’t been untouched by the challenges of mental health. Over the years, I’ve come to recognize how deeply nutrition impacts both mental and physical well-being.
For over 10 years, I’ve worked in the healthcare field, witnessing the powerful role food plays in both supporting and challenging health. Those experiences led me to take a step back and reflect on what really matters: Laughing often, loving fully, eating well, and staying active.
After navigating the demands of life, I left behind a college program in Medical Laboratory Technology to follow a path that is more aligned with my heart and values. Pursuing a Natural Nutrition program while balancing my career in the laboratory field and my role as a proud aunt and childcare provider has been a fulfilling adventure.
As I work toward completing my studies, I’m living my best life—experimenting with nutritious, family-friendly meals that even my nephews love, all while managing my own dietary needs (hello, lactose intolerance!).
